Pendola Pass Loot Route — Dynamic Zones, Gondola Extracts & Best Stops (2.1.0)
Quick Answer
Pendola Pass has no fixed best route — Dynamic Loot Zones keep loot type but vary value raid-to-raid. Start Old Town (77 containers) or Commissary Supermarket (36) for safe value, hit Railyard (49) for Industrial/Mechanical, extract via nearest of 4 Gondola transceivers. Frigate, Night Raid and Redirection are PvPvE-only. Updated for 2.1.0 Oct 13 2026.
Step-by-Step Guide
Understand Dynamic Loot Zones first
Pendola Pass is Embark's test map for Dynamic Loot Zones: each zone keeps its loot TYPE (Residential stays Residential, Industrial stays Industrial) but the VALUE varies raid-to-raid. Last raid's hot zone can be cold this raid. Do not autopilot a fixed loop like Dam or Buried City. Scout as you move, loot fast, and keep your extract flexible. If a pocket looks thin in the first 60 seconds, rotate early.
Best stops by container count (ordinary round)
Old Town: 77 spots, Old World + Residential — richest overall, start here for safe value. Railyard: 49 spots, Industrial + Mechanical — best for Rope, Mechanical Components, Power Cable and other craft mats. Researcher Lodgings: 37 spots. Commissary Supermarket: 36 spots, Commercial + Medical — great medical + quest overlap (search containers for Picking Up the Pieces, fixed in 2.1.0). Cielo Sereno Observatory: 28 spots, Exodus + Technological, elevated with sightline advantage. Almatera Station: 21 spots, Commercial.
Safe 15-minute route for solo / PvE beta
Spawn to Commissary Supermarket: clear 36 containers + loot-icon quest areas. Rotate to Old Town via town square: sweep Residential, grab Church rooftop if you carry the Equatorial Sundial quest. Check map for Dynamic Zone value — if Old Town is thin, cut to Researcher Lodgings instead of full-clearing. Call Gondola early at Supermarket Transceiver (or nearest of Northern / Reckless / Glacial) and read the arrival callout: the car lands offset from your call point (e.g. NW of position). Open the map for the arrival icon and move to it — do not wait on the call point. Extract at 12-15 min or when stash hits your threshold. Use the Stash Calculator to set a 20,000 RC rule before you drop.
High-risk route: Fallen Emperor + Frigate (PvPvE only)
The fallen Emperor ARC in the map center is enterable and the reason to drop here — rare tech, but contested. Frigate cargo is the highest risk / reward loop and is EXCLUDED from PvE beta along with Night Raid, Locked Gate, Hidden Bunker and Redirection. Frigate hatches now burn on open (2.1.0), cargo collision is smoothed but knockouts were possible — do not camp hatches. Spawns during Frigate rounds now start closer to action. Only run this geared, with a squad, in PvPvE.
Extractions: 4 transceivers + Ballistic Gondola
Pendola Pass has 24 named places but only 4 return points, all Transceivers: Supermarket (near Commissary), Northern (Frozen River, sensible open plain), Reckless (Piazza della Rupe, in the Fallen Emperor shadow — defy fate), Glacial (Freight Terminal, ice can shatter). The Ballistic Gondola is callable, 3 seats per car, loud and contested with a short board window. Since 2.1.0: Gondola markers visible 120m to 175m, and the inside-Gondola elimination bug is fixed. Always know your exit before committing to Emperor.
Keys, quests and conditions to watch
Keys: Old Town Key, Railyard Keyroom, Train Station Key, Cielo Sereno keys. Quests: Picking Up the Pieces loot-icon areas now count (2.1.0 fix), Sizing Things Up cinematics fixed, Nomad Camp under Railyard, buried Harvester Payloads around the Emperor, Spotter Relay at Cielo Sereno Observatory antenna, wire patch on tallest Railyard tower. Conditions: Flash Freeze (use Avalanche Shelters), Redirection (pull Harvester Payloads, holds ground, PvPvE-only), Frigate (PvPvE-only). Night lighting is darker since 2.1.0 — bring light discipline. Railyard jump / auto-step is fixed.
Loadout: Grappling Hook changes everything here
Pendola Pass is built for verticality. Grappling Hook (Utility Station 1: 2x Rope + Cable Stripper + Mechanical Component, blueprint via Nomadic Envoys ~9,000 trade or Reward Pass 12) is the best mobility here after 2.1.0 buffs: auto-vault triggers reliably, rope wraps geometry, no detach on Ballistic Gondola lift-off, releases on fall-damage down, 0 durability = broken not destroyed. Same fixes for Tether Launcher. Bantam (Heavy, 8rd, hip-fire) covers close Emperor halls; Stiletto (Light, paced shots) covers observatory sightlines. Neither has Amplification — do not chase tier 5.
Pro Tips
- ▸No fixed best route on Pendola Pass — Dynamic Loot Zones vary value every raid, type stays fixed.
- ▸Start Supermarket (36) to Old Town (77) for safe value; Railyard (49) for Industrial/Mechanical craft mats.
- ▸Call Gondola early and move to the arrival icon — it lands offset from your call point.
- ▸Frigate, Redirection, Night Raid, Locked Gate and Hidden Bunker have no PvE queue — run those in PvPvE.
- ▸Frigate hatches burn on open since 2.1.0 — never camp hatches.
- ▸Night is darker since 2.1.0 — adjust lights and scopes for Pendola nights.
- ▸Grappling Hook vaults on Pendola now auto-trigger — re-learn old impossible climbs.
- ▸Loot-icon areas count for Picking Up the Pieces since 2.1.0 — sweep them while looting.
- ▸Know your transceiver before Emperor: Supermarket, Northern, Reckless, Glacial.
- ▸Set a stash threshold (e.g. 20,000 RC) in the Stash Calculator and extract when you hit it — greed kills.
